Andy Davoli
Italian-American actor and filmmaker Andy Davoli has built a career defined by intensity, wit, and an unmistakable screen presence — the kind that consistently attracts top-tier filmmakers.
Discovered by James Gray, Davoli made his studio debut opposite Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, and Charlize Theron in Miramax’s The Yards. He soon followed with Martin Scorsese (Bringing Out the Dead), and appeared opposite Al Pacino in People I Know. His breakout role came as Scarpa in New Line Cinema’s Knockaround Guys, starring opposite Vin Diesel, Barry Pepper, and John Malkovich.
On television, Davoli’s dangerous charisma inspired David Chase to create the recurring role of Dino Zerilli specifically for him on HBO’s The Sopranos. His featured episode, “Amour Fou,” culminates in the largest and most explosive gunfight in the series — the same episode that earned James Gandolfini his Emmy.
Davoli continued his ascent with the Russo Brothers, playing ensemble lead Basil in Welcome to Collinwood opposite Sam Rockwell, George Clooney, and Gabrielle Union. Pulitzer Prize–winner David Mamet later cast him opposite Val Kilmer in Spartan, impressed by Davoli’s quick wit and command in the room.
Across prestige television, Davoli has delivered standout performances in 24, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, The Unit, Burn Notice, and Lucifer. On HBO’s Golden Globe–nominated Warm Springs, he transformed into Jake Perini, a wheelchair-bound polio survivor opposite Kenneth Branagh and Cynthia Nixon. His sharp Sicilian features also led to a Dolce & Gabbana campaign with Gisele Bündchen, shot by Steven Meisel.
In the interactive space, Davoli has brought his voice and physicality to major video game titles including Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire, Medal of Honor, and Mafia III: Stones Unturned.
Recent and upcoming work includes The Break-Up Pill, directed by Tom Arnold, and Davoli’s fan-favorite turn as Elijah Enoch, a swaggering, cool-under-fire news anchor whose presence cuts through chaos with dark humor and unexpected heroism. The character appears across a three-film arc including Stiletto, If It Bleeds, and Sweetest Day.
Davoli has evolved into a creator and world-builder. He writes, produces, and stars in LAZ, a prestige Italian-American sports drama about legacy, identity, faith, and second chances, set against the world of elite basketball and family power. Inspired by classical and biblical allegory, LAZ is Davoli’s most personal and ambitious work to date and is currently in development with top-tier producing partners. He is also the creative force behind Davoli Diaries, a cinematic micro-series blending humor, faith, and mythic comeback energy, where fiction and real life collide.
Davoli is excited to return to the stage, where his love of live performance first took root, and to reconnect with the immediacy and shared breath of the theater.
